The videogame Shadow Of The Colossus looks like it's coming to the big screen after all...

Now this could be good. There had been talk before about bringing the excellent videogame Shadow Of The Colossus to the big screen (with Chronicle, Fantastic Four reboot and now Star Wars director Josh Trank attached at one stage). And now it looks as though Sony Pictures has resurrected the project, given that it's appointed a director to it.

Said director is Andres Muschietti, who broke through with the horror film Mama. For some time, he was attached to direct Universal's reboot of The Mummy, before parting company with that particular project. Alex Kurtzman is the new Mummy helmer.

Muschietti will bring Shadow Of The Colossus to the screen off the back of a screenplay that Seth Lochhead is writing. There's clearly some way still to go here, and Uncharted will be the next major game that Sony brings to the movies (in 2016). But don't be surprised if Shadow Of The Colossus isn't too far behind...
