The man behind The Fades has been hired to write the screenplay for the movie of Neil Gaiman's Sandman...

Good news, this. Jack Thorne, the man who created and wrote the excellent TV show The Fades, has been hired to write the screenplay for the upcoming movie of Neil Gaiman's Sandman.

Thorne, whose extensive credits also include his writing on the This Is England TV shows, and features such as How I Live Now and A Long Way Down, will adapt Sandman for Warner Bros. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is confirmed as producer on the film, and is still expected to star. He might direct too.

Thorne will be working from David S Goyer's treatment for the film, and Goyer too remains involved as producer. More on Sandman as we hear it.

That's really good news for this project. The Fades was the best uk horror show in many many years.

Can't think of a more obvious screenwriter to write NEIL GAIMAN'S Sandman

if only they could have got the little known screenwriter of Neverwhere, I think he'd be quite good at adapting a Neil Gaiman series for film...can't seem to recall his name, but I think he did a couple of episodes of Dr Who too.
