New trailer: Reach Me, starring Sylvester Stallone

Trailer Simon Brew 7 Jul 2014 - 06:16

Sylvester Stallone, Cary Elwes, Kelsey Grammer and more line up for new comedy drama Reach Me. Here's the trailer...

In the midst of his current collection of action movies, Sylvester Stallone has snuck in something more dramatic. Reach Me is a comedy drama that sees him alongside Kelsey Grammer, Danny Aiello, Cary Elwes, Terry Crews, Kyra Sedgwick, Tom Berenger and Thomas Jane.

At the heart of a film is a self-help book that an ensemble of characters have a connection to. Reach Me has been written and directed by John Herzfeld, who was also responsible for the underrated 2 Days In The Valley. And the trailer for it is right here. When we get word of a UK release date, we'll let you know...

Stop digging, movie, you have struck gold.

looks real good

Interesting cast. You class it as a comedy drama. Didn't see much of the former in the trailer.

How awesome's Thomas Jane?!

Hard to tell from the trailer whether this is going to be great or a dud (it looks like one of those films that will either swing one way or the other, and not be merely OK). Thomas Jane's gunshooting lawman looks to be a standout character from the trailer at least. If only there was some way that he could play a similarly morally ambiguous vigilante style character in another film or series of films. There must be a potential film franchise out there with a role like that he could play, but it just seems to have slipped my mind for the moment......

Looks like it could be good, but more likely to be a bit of a mess.

How many movies was this trailer about? Is this a walking dead/shield/frasier crossover or something? Was that NELLY?! Fitty's probly tied up in his basement next to Stallone's retinas.
Sly:"Ay yo, ain't Chou dat nelly kid? Ruh ruh ruh?"
Nelly:"Nuh um fithy cent. Uh duh tryin"
Sly: ay terry, jimuh jemmuh fumuh jigbeh?"
Terry Crews: "I don't know and I don't care long as I get payeeYAID! Pushin rhymes like weeeight! I'm pushin RHYMES like WEEEEIGHT!!"

"It's not about people, it's about people."

Thanks for clearing that up Terry, cuz I had no idea what it was about, and now I have no idea what's about.

Sly gets the best line of course. Oh and thanks for translating.

Hey check tis out, that finguhpainting got Rocked on part 5. Looks like it stunted his growt, as paulie would undoubtedly put it. Kevin Connolly, folks!

Even as Sly's biggest fan this looks like a Channel 5 TV movie. If this film get's distribution in the U.K. I would be incredibly suprised.

"Gimme back my Coat!"

(My director's cut) please don't hit me!

Welling up just watching this, makes me want to be a better man, choose a higher path, be all I can be......not really, too much trouble! Moving on from my snarky comments I don’t see evidence of any comedy here, or drama for that matter just melodrama of the kind seen in any daytime soap.
