First trailer lands for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes arrives in cinemas next summer. And here's the first teaser trailer for it...

Heading into cinemas next summer is the follow-up to the surprisingly strong reboot of the Planet Of The Apes saga, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. The new film, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, sees the director's megaphone being handed over from Rupert Wyatt to Matt Reeves. It doesn't pick up immediately after the last film we understand, but will certainly follow through what Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes set up.

The cast is led by Keri Russell, Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman, and we've got the first trailer for the movie here. Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes lands on July 17th in the UK....

As an avid lover of Planet of the Apes, I am SO pumped to see this film.

Now THAT'S a trailer...! Gave me goosebumps all over!

What is a Large Format Thatre?

It's a bigger version of the smaller "Thatre".

Consider me very much teased! Job done.

It's got my monkey love on!

I wanna say iMax, so I will.

Oh, I see. You copied my typo. Clever.

Looks good. Not as good as 'Stop the Planet of the Apes, I want to get off' but still good...

No offence intended, I was only monkeying around. (Honestly though just having a laugh).

This movie has very big shoes to fill, but this trailer looks very promising... And thankfully, not too much is given away (take note, Amazing-Spidey-2 marketing execs). Not that I was ever out, but I am most certainly IN.

Hmm.. if it is just a bigger theatre, "Thatre" might be quite a good name.

I like every ape I see....From Chimpan-A to Chimpan-Zee

I was expecting a big epic trailer like we got for Rise but it still looks good. Unfortunately the timing of its release makes it seem their ripping off the quick shots idea from the Godzilla trailer.

Well the first/reboot was a great film, but I never see it getting much love. This looks like it will be a great sequel as it's looking like it takes what made the story work in the first film and build on what's gone before.

Only problem with this trailer is that there is still 7 months to go!!!

This is not what I was expecting, I had thought all human life was going to be wiped out from the start of Dawn until the return of the spaceship launched in Rise. Glad to see I was wrong this looks a far more interesting prospect.

I loved Rise, thought the entire film was the best reboot ever (which admittedly isn't saying much) but the direction, plot and acting was all first rate and it thoroughly deserves a sequel.

So they release the trailer then get every movie site to take it down......

Keep your Stars Wars, Avengers, whatever rootboot you're doing this week... I'll have god-damn dirty apes any day of the week!

oh-oh-oh doctor Zeus!

more like a teaser me thinks.

Very nice, spoiler free trailer. Why can't more trailers be like this?

Now that is how you do a trailer!!

Good to see Jason Clarke getting a higher profile, he was fantastic in Zero Dark Thirty. The guy's got a lot of screen presence, and has a natural rapport with monkeys :)

I love it

Don't be speciesist! :-)

Now that was stunning. Exactly the right amount of plot information, without spoiling anything. and the CG on Caesar was mind-blowing. Looks like Serkis and WETA have once again knocked it out of the park.

Yeah shame its a teaser. No doubt the full trailer will arrive early next year spoiling it all for us - I dont think I am strong enough to stop myself watching it though!!

Me either. When a trailer comes out, I have to watch it. Though I'm glad to see teasers are beginning to get back to actually teasing us, like the Godzilla trailer last week. Interstellar tried the same tactic, but a vague voiceover and 90% stock footage isn't exactly enticing.
