Peter Dinklage set to star in an R-rated comedy
Peter Dinklage is set to headline a Bad Santa-like comedy about a certain character from Irish folklore for Paramount...
Paramount has decided to capitalise on the ever increasing profile of Peter Dinklage by signing him up to star in an R-Rated comedy about a staple of Irish folklore, the leprechaun. The star of Game Of Thrones, The Station Agent and the upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past will find himself playing a sharp-tongued man who tells people he's a real life leprechaun - and to the best of our knowledge, it will have nothing to do with the 1993 horror comedy of the same name
Producers say that they're aiming for a tone similar to Bad Santa, which certainly wouldn't be a bad thing in terms of humour. The film is being written by Andrew Dodge, the screenwriter of Jason Bateman's upcoming directorial debut Bad Words.
Dinklage is getting considerable praise for his dramatic work at the moment, but he's shown in the past that he's also a talented comedic actor, so this is a project that's worth keeping an eye on for the star alone.
