New Peter Pan movie lands in the summer of 2015

A new Peter Pan movie takes on Ted 2 and Terminator: Genesis...

The once-brutal summer blockbuster landscape of 2015 has softened just a little, with the likes of Star Wars: Episode VII, Independence Day 2 and Pirates Of The Caribbean 6 amongst the films once slated for then that have moved to later dates. Still, it would be fair to call the line-up competitive, even without those films in there.

Warner Bros, however, is not deterred, and it's confirmed that it's moving ahead with a new live action take on Peter Pan, that Joe Wright is directing it, and that it's heading straight into the middle of that summer 2015 battleground.

The new movie is called Pan, and it's set for release on June 26th 2015. That's going head to head with Ted 2, and arriving the week before Terminator: Genesis.

It's ten years now since the last major live action take on Peter Pan, directed by P J Hogan, which is worth seeking out for Jason Isaacs' turn as Captain Hook. Hello, of course, if he happens to be reading this.

More on Pan as we hear it.

Since the copyright ran out on the original Peter Pan play you can bet there are going to be a lot of Pan films in the next few years.

Although they don't have to I'd like to hope they would offer a donation to GOSH as a gesture
