New trailer for Oz The Great And Powerful

Trailer Simon Brew 14 Nov 2012 - 13:30

Sam Raimi's Oz The Great And Powerful arrives in cinemas next March. Here's the brand new trailer...

One of the first blockbusters of 2013 will be Disney's delving into the backstory of The Wizard Of Oz. The film in question is Oz The Great And Powerful, which marks the first blockbuster Sam Raimi has directed since he left the Spider-Man franchise.

He's pulled together quite a cast, too. James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff all feature in the movie, which explores the origins of the infamous Wizard. And we can get a good look at what Raimi's been up to now, with the release of the brand new trailer.

Take a look and see what you think...

Looks like a Smashing Pumpkins video circa 1995.

THAT LOOKS AMAZING!!! <excited dance=""></excited>

Looks pretty good man, hopes kids will dig it!!

I've gone from not wanting to see it, to really wanting to see it.

This trailer makes it look 100 times better than the last.

I thought the last trailer looked pure silt but I actually love how crazy this looks in the new trailer. I'm moving towards looking forward to this.

" The Gun is good! The Penis is evil!" Oh, wait. Wrong Wizard of Oz film. :(

This is going to ROCK! Rachel Weisz as (looking like) the Wicked Witch of the West/East... who knows! flying monkeys! POTTERY PEOPLE! OHHHHH JUST TOO CRAZY AND TOO MUCH!

Okay so, what? I thought that one of the sisters became the evil witch but there's already one there?
Still looks pretty good though.

Agreed! After the first trailer I thought why didnt they just do a cgi cartoon but its shaping up better :)

Graphics look amazing but where's the gameplay?

Still think Robert Downey Junior should have been the wizard.

I don't know man...reminds me of Burton's Alice in Wonderland: too-glossy greenscreen sets, over-serious plot, po-faced acting. No heart to the thing. I'm not one of these moaning cynical internet people (I promise).

hehehehe right on....

Is anyone else underwhelmed by the idea of James Franco as the wizard? Also, as someone else has mentioned, it looks a bit too much like the recent Alice attempt. I want to be, but I'm not convinced yet. :(

Yes! He'd have been perfect!

I'm going to be "that guy". Why can't we get a decent OZ movie that is faithful to the books? The best we've had is RETURN TO OZ. I loved that, but even it was far-too-bleak and dark to ever be a success.

i have that fear, but it is less loud than my eagerness to see this
