First poster for Sam Raimi's Oz The Great And Powerful

Sam Raimi’s film that digs into the origins of the Wizard Of Oz is due next March. And the first poster has just turned up…

Interestingly, just as The Amazing Spider-Man is opening in cinemas, Disney chooses this moment to release the first poster for one of its upcoming films, Oz The Great And Powerful. It’s interesting because Raimi was originally going to making Spider-Man 4 for Sony, having directed the previous three, but that was before the studio delayed the return of Spidey for a year, and went with Marc Webb’s reboot instead. Which came out this week.

Still, Oz The Great And Powerful, which explores the origins of the Wizard of Oz, looks really quite strong. The cast includes Mila Kunis, James Franco, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff, and with the release of this poster, we wonder if a teaser trailer might not be too far behind….

nice.

Looks very 'Lord of the Rings'... Especially the 'O' in 'Oz'.

meh, generic .

there better be a Bruce Campbell cameo damnit or I'll be pissed

Could be interesting.

I would love to see a Guillermo del Toro take on this! I've never thought beyond the original Wizard of Oz story, but it could be great - and it sounds like they have a solid cast.

Looks gorgeous. Stylistically seems to be a cross between Lord Of The Rings and Tintin.

Why? didn't Dorthy just dream about Oz?

that was my first thought on seeing the poster

I kinda thought tim burton would remake Return to Oz one day, he's the perfect guy to bring the scribblings of an ether addicted crazy person to the screen but this looks ok.
