First trailer for Olympus Has Fallen

The race is on to save the President and the White House, in action thriller Olympus Has Fallen. And here's the first trailer for it...

The first of a pair of films this year to see the White House thrust into the middle of an action movie (Roland Emmerich's White House Down being the next, due in September), Olympus Has Fallen is already looking like something of a hoot. Once upon a time, you can imagine Wesley Snipes in the lead role.

As it is, Olympus Has Fallen features Aaron Eckhart, Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Angela Bassett and Rick Yune, with the focus being on Butler's disgraced former Secret Service agent, who might just be the only one who can save the day.

Training Day's Antoine Fuqua is directing, and the film hits the US in March, arriving in the UK in April. Here's the first trailer for it, to give you an idea just what to expect...

Die Hard in the Whitehouse...
And I can't ever see 'Camp David' without thinking of Alan Partridge. "Oooh, mince!"

I was JUST thinking that this needed more Morgan Freeman.

Die Hard in the Whitehouse (beat by beat by beat).

looks awful...cliched tired actioner released in April before the Summer Blockbusters....YAWN.....Butler's American accent hasn't improved one iota either...oh dear.

I think it looks like good fun, but I am hoping the piss poor CGI will be worked on before its release.

I feel like I've already seen it... every day of my life over and over and over. Oh Gerard - it's just never gonna happen for you is it? And nice to see Ashley Judd has finally been relegated to "dies in the first five minutes" fodder.

Actually looks quite good, although I'd put money on Ashley Judd returning in the last act as the revenge driven mastermind behind the terrorists. If I'm right, everyone here owes me a pound!

Wow Fenrat, who p****ed on your porridge this morning?

It must have a very complicated plot as Morgan Freeman is there to explain it ;)

Been waiting for a follow up to Ashley Judd's 'I'm Sleeping With Someone at Paramount' for ages. Huzzah!

It looks like 'Die Hard' meets 'Air Force One' combined with '24' Day (season) 7.

Did anyone look at the title graphics and read this as the decline of a certain camera manufacturer?

That's the first thing I thought of too. Yippie Kay YAY!

A good movie to see hard.

I don't think this story should be considered canon.

This film really looks horrible, cliche after cliche. Hollywood really needs to get their act up.

Those digital effects are B A D - terrible.
