Director Louis Letterier returning for Now You See Me 2
With a longer cut of the original film on disc adding in a scene teasing a sequel, Louis Letterier confirms he's making Now You See Me 2.
One of the jobs we most want in the world is that of coming up with the title for the announced sequel to this summer's hit, Now You See Me. Now You See Me Again? Or what about Now You Don't? There's a reason our CV never seems to land at the top of the pile.
As the film makes its way to DVD and Blu-ray, director Louis Letterier has re-inserted a scene into a longer cut of the film on the disc, one that leads into the sequel. It's a post-credits sequence that Letterier didn't want to include in the theatrical release of the film, because he was "very conscious of not jinxing it". As he told Coming Soon, "this summer, I saw a couple of movies where they had 'sequelitis' and you totally jinx it".
The director has revealed that he will indeed be returning for the sequel to Now You See Me, although that's not necessarily going to be his next film. He added that two movies was in his thinking from the start, but he seems keen to squeeze in another feature before he embarks on Now You See Me 2. Whether that works for Lionsgate, which is keen to get moving sooner rather than later, remains to be seen.
