Mad Max: Fury Road heading for reshoots
George Miller's fourth Mad Max film still has no release date, but extra shooting will be taking place in November...
We're going to preface this story by saying that reshoots are common, and that - as World War Z's extensive reshooting showed - they're not a reason to shout 'crisis' from the top of a rather large building. They're part and parcel of the process of a big movie.
That said, not much has been heard about George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road since the film completed its principal photography last December. Shot in Namibia and South Africa, the movie doesn't have a release date even yet, and there's been no sign of formal promotion for it. It's little secret that Miller has opted for heavy physical production rather than relying on computers for his big set piece sequences, and we wonder if they're taking some time to jigsaw together.
If.com.au has now reported that three weeks of reshoots are being organised, set to start on November 22nd. They'll be taking place in the Sydney area in Australia. New characters and scenes are set to be added.
The film stars Tom Hardy, Nicholas Hoult, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Charlize Theron. We'd imagine it's set for release in 2014, but there's been no confirmation of that thus far. We'll keep you posted...
