The former Amy Pond will team-up with Blumhouse Productions again for Ti West’s latest.

Since leaving Doctor Who, Karen Gillan’s star has undoubtedly been on the rise with a starring role in jumpy horror Oculus, a supporting part in Guardians Of The Galaxy and her own in-development sitcom Selfie already under her belt.

Now, there are reports that Gillan will be teaming up once more with Blumouse Productions, the company behind Oculus, for new western In A Valley of Violence. The film will be directed by Ti West, who is arguably best-known for acclaimed horror The House Of The Devil.

Last seen in the Old West battling killer cyborgs in 2012 Doctor Who episode A Town Called Mercy, Gillan will now star alongside Taissa Farmiga, John Travolta and Ethan Hawke in a plot which centres on Hawke as a drifter on a quest for vengeance.

Gillan will play Farmiga’s sister with whom she runs a hotel and gets involved with the central vendetta. More news on this as it comes in.

Every possibility that 'In a Valley Of Violence' is going to be a lot more violent than 'A Town Called Mercy' considering Ti West is writing and directing it and how all his previous has been in the horror genre.Hardly surprising Blumhouse were looking to work with Ms. Gillan on another project so quickly considering how well ' Oculus' performed at the box office when it was very unfortunately released at the same time as 'Only Lovers Left Alive' and 'Under The Skin' in America.

Between this and 'The Sacrament' ,I,m perceiving a definite Wes Craven feeling from Ti Wests' latest stuff.Quite optimistic that Ellen,Gillans' character won't be involved in the story because she's romantically attached to one of the male leads because I think Ms. Gillan is looking for more unconventional parts in her projects.

This sounds like fun. Selfie on the other hand looks terrible with a flipping lot of "Hey, we are for you youthful viewers! Why? Because we have a cr*p load of social media and stuff."
