Christian Bale on the Justice League movie and Batman
He can't make it much clearer: Christian Bale won't be Batman again, and he's not in Justice League...
Until another actor is formally announced in the role, Christian Bale remains the current big screen iteration of Batman, courtesy of his work in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. That said, it's been made clear many times that Bale has no interest in donning the cape and cowl again, unless Nolan himself is involved, and as a consequence, the actor's Batman days are done.
He's made this perfectly clear again in a new piece at Entertainment Weekly, where he's been asked about more Batman. "We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three. That’s enough. Let’s not get greedy", he said.
Recalling that he and Nolan worked on the films on a one-at-a-time basis, he recalled the point where they were about to embark on the third film, The Dark Knight Rises. "We never really knew if we were going to get to be there", he said of getting to a third movie, "but if that was how it was going to be, this was where it should end as well".
So, to make it utterly plain once more, when asked about the plans for a Justice League movie, Bale said "I have no information, no knowledge about anything. I've literally not had a conversation with a living soul", adding of the role of Batman that "it's a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what someone else will come up with".
