First tease of Jurassic World's dinosaurs

It's not much, but director Colin Trevorrow posts a first hint at the dinos of Jurassic World...

Well, there's not much to go on here, but such is our level of interest in 2015's Jurassic World, that we feel honour bound to post this anyway.

So then. Last week, we had a bunch of images released from Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World, which heads to cinemas next year. Said images were all about the human beings though, with the dinosaurs being kept under wraps for the time being.

However, on his Twitter account, Trevorrow has posted a first teasing picture of what's to come. That's most definitely teeth there...

We're guilty, of course. This is hardly a substantive piece of news reporting, and every comment you write about how in the scheme of things this tells us very little is entirely spot on. We figure if we admit said guilt nice and early, you'll go easy on us.

We're just really looking forward to this one.

Tomorrow: our exclusive look at what the cast are having for lunch....

And now..... I dream of Jeanie! Der ner, nerner nerner ner, ****BANG***

Well, at the very least that picture tells us that models, or even animatronics may be being used in conjunction with the CGI, even if they're only acting as placeholders.

The cup of water on my desk is rippling with excitement at this teaser.

indeed! good point

Not necessarily. The shadow itself could be a CG rendition (it wouldn't take them long even in these early stages). I strongly hope they use models and puppets in conjunction with the CG (as with the first one) as having a physical creation there always seems to help the sense of peril. However, filmmakers are too lazy these days and prefer to render everything digitally, so would doubt it.

I rather doubt they'd go to the effort of superimposing a CG shadow onto a live action set for the sake of a tweet. Much simpler to just take a picture of an actual shadow in what is obviously just a behind the scenes picture of the set.

Could well be. And why not I would say. Put them ALL in the powder keg.

Could be a Mosasaur, which I would be more than happy with!

Looking at those gnashers in the silhouette, it's less "what the cast are having for lunch" and more "what is having the cast for lunch".

woah...there's going to be dinosaurs in this film?

They do need some icthyosaurs and other watery-beasties in this one, they haven't had a look in so far

I remember them saying that there would be hybrid dinos in this flick, and that jawline looks a whole heck of a lot like a crocodile, so maybe it's more revealing than it appears at first glance...

Good point. I may just be jaded by the state of most films today and their over dependence on CG. However, I really hope you're right. I'd love to see the actual puppet casting the shadow, and see them on set next to the actors. Until I see that though, I'll remain sceptical.

Wow. I love it.

Dissapointingly I'm pretty sure its that skeleton that used to hang in the loby (presumably they fixed it) you can see the vertebrae behind it and the shadow for the head looks very slender, Id guess it was just a skull

An aquatic dinosaur's shadow in a street shot? Pure genius

Looks like it, or it's "Godzilla" from the 1998 movie, going with that chin. I for one liked the Spinosaurus. I like to know where the heck she(?) came from in JP3.

Might be a reflection from the tank, might be a statue, who knows!

I might be grasping at straws...

Just hoping that Dyouthinkhesaurus makes an appearance this time, such a teaser in the first one to joke about it.
