Kathleen Kennedy's commitments to Star Wars mean she won't now be producing Jurassic Park 4...

She's fielded questions about the project for many years, but it's now been confirmed that Kathleen Kennedy will not be producing the forthcoming Jurassic Park 4. The movie has already been confirmed for a summer 2014 release, although no director as of yet has been announced for the project. But it seem as though Kennedy's new job, as head of Lucasfilm and getting the Star Wars movies going, is eating up her time.

Her husband, Frank Marshall, confirmed on Twitter therefore that "she's traded raptors for TIE fighters", and her hands-on involvement with Jurassic Park 4 had ended. It's hardly surprising news, to be fair, and the project will press ahead nonetheless.

Marshall also denied a rumour that had sprung up that Steven Spielberg would take a hand in directing the new movie. Spielberg remains onboard as producer though.

The current release date for Jurassic Park 4 is June 13th 2014. We'll keep you posted as we hear more on it.
