First poster for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, no release date
Paramount begins the publicity campaign for the new Jack Ryan film, but the new poster does need to stop rumours of a release date delay...
Yesterday, we learned the sad news that Tom Clancy had died, at the age of just 66. It's no age, and you can probably see that by the shock and surprise that greeted the news.
Paramount Pictures had already given the heads up beforehand that it was set to release the first poster for the upcoming film Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit before news of Clancy broke. Clancy, of course, was the man behind the Jack Ryan character. As it turned out, it was quite a sombre and downbeat poster that was released. You can see it here.
What this poster doesn't do is answer the speculation that the film has been put back from its original December release date. There's been a notable lack of publicity for the movie thus far, and the rumour is that Paramount is pushing Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit back to January, to accommodate a very slight delay with Martin Scorsese's The Wolf Of Wall Street. The 'Coming Soon' on this poster hardly quashes said rumour.
One further thing: we wonder if the release of the poster means that a trailer is finally due.
We're really looking forward to the film, whenever it comes out. There's never been a bad Jack Ryan film to date, and we see no intention that that run is going to be broken here. We'll keep you posted.
