Iron Man 3 casting latest

Two more faces are joining Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man 3...

Iron Man 3 started shooting this week, with director Shane Black calling the shots, and Robert Downey Jr reprising the title role. Joining him in the cast? Well, we already knew about Sir Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce and Rebecca Hall.

Now? Firstly, it’s been revealed that Jon Favreau, the director of the first two Iron Man movies, is back on board as Happy Hogan. It's a role he's taken in each film so far, but inevitably, there was some speculation he wouldn't return after it was announced he wasn't directingthe third movie. Consider that speculation ended.

Secondly? Ashley Hamilton may not be a name familiar to many, but Marvel is lining him up to play Firepower in the new movie. It’s not, apparently, going to be too big a role in the movie, but clearly the plan is to give Tony Stark something of a workout in Iron Man 3, given the way the villains are building up.

It's cool that Favreau is coming back as Hogan, although I'm I read that he was always happy to do it. The only annoying thing is that it seems Justin Hammer, Sam Rockwell won't be returning. I really liked that guys energy in the film and how he played off of Robert Downey Jr. Oh well, I guess Guy Pearce will have to do. :)

Hammer's in jail, surely? Maybe he could pop up in IM5. :P

Hmmm...
With the increased budget and numerous villians, I hope Iron Man isn't trying to be TOO big. I know the danger is it will feel like a bit of a let down after the Avengers, but to be honest I don't think it is physically possible to follow a film featuring all the heroes then go back to single movies and expect them to be as good.
A personal story, which sees Tony Stark pushed to limits he's never gone to before, is where I'd go now. I'd like to see his whole world come tumbling down as he faces his hardest challenge yet, before recovering and leading in well to Avengers 2.
I also want a Hulk.
But if no Hulk, a Captain America cameo, please?
And Nick Fury. He should be there too.

WOW! Welcome back  Jon Favreau!

I'm thinking more and more it has to be something along the lines of his armor wars storyline and he creates extremis as a response to others stealing his tech, or perhpas the extremis tech malfunctions and turns him less human for a while.

Either way it would be great to see Ghost introduced as a character that inhabits the grey area between good and evil. He was always one of my favourites.

Yeah but he could always escape or Shield could make a deal with him for some crazy reason - like he has information on a new threat. Ha. But yeah, like you say, hopeful he pops up in 4 or 5 of Iron Man.

Sam Rockwell is a treat anywhere he shows up, and he was a great foil for Stark

I like Roberty Downey Jr. immensely as an actor, and I love Iron Man, and I loved him when he first came out in the Marvel Comics. I am looking forward to this next edition. However, as a die-hard Marvel Comics fan, PLEEEEEEEEEASE can a really decent, cleverly-scripted and designed CGI-assisted film be made of DOCTOR STRANGE? There gave been a couple of luke-warm stabs at it in the past, but that particular marvel character has never been given the Big Budget/Big Skills/Big Talent treatment it so richly deserves. With the right actor, director and screenplay, Dr. Strange could join the queue of Merry Marvel Movie Marching Mega-Hits.

I really hope they don't try to do too much a' la Spiderman 3. Obviously packing 3 major villains into the movie was only part of what made that movie suck but still something to consider nonetheless. I feel confident though, that Iron Man 3 will at least be better than 2.

I just want to see more of the Hulk! Even just a cameo and I'll be happy!
