First story details for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar
As production begins on Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, some story details - and the cast - have been formally confirmed.
Heading into cinemas at the end of next year is Christopher Nolan's first film post-The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar. The movie's cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Michael Caine, John Lithgow, Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley and Ellen Burstyn, and it already looks really rather fascinating.
The original idea for the film, and the first screenplay, was from Jonathan Nolan. Christopher Nolan has now reworked this, and we've got the first official story details as part of an official start of production announcement from Paramount and Warner Bros. It's all mostly still under wraps, but we now have some idea at least.
The outline says: "The new script chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage".
That doesn't clear much up, but it does give a flavour. The film is due in cinemas in November 2014, and we'll be keeping a close eye on it.
