Harrison Ford on Indiana Jones 5
Harrison Ford is still keen to return for one more Indiana Jones adventure. Plus: bonus trivia. He turned down the role of Alan Grant in Jurassic Park…
Things have been quiet on the Indiana Jones 5 front for a little while now, and with Steven Spielberg directing both Lincoln and Robopocalypse over the coming year or two, it’s going to be a little while yet before the project goes before the cameras. That’s if it happens at all.
At a special screening of Raiders Of The Lost Ark earlier this week, however, Harrison Ford was questioned afterwards about the state of the project, and his level of interest in it. Bottom line, it seems he’s still keen to do one more Indiana Jones adventure.
“Maybe a fifth,” he said, “but I ain’t going to Mars. Next time we get a script for Indiana Jones, I’d be delighted to play the character. Each time we meet him, we wanted to advance the audience’s understanding of the character, not just by putting him in adventures, but by learning something about him…that’s what led to the meeting of his father, played by Sean Connery, and his son, played by Shia, and bringing Marion back.”
Steven Spielberg, at the same event, also revealed that he’d offered the role of Alan Grant in Jurassic Park to Ford, but the actor turned it down. Sam Neill, of course, went on to play the part.
