Trailer Simon Brew 3 Jun 2014 - 14:50

Dwayne Johnson takes on the role of Hercules in Brett Ratner's upcoming blockbuster. Here's the latest trailer...

Hidden amongst the sequels and comic book movies in this summer's blockbuster line-up is another big screen take on the character of Hercules (the second this year). This time, Dwayne Johnson is taking on the title role, in the latest blockbuster from visionary director Brett Ratner.

The film co-stars John Hurt, Ian McShane and Joseph Fiennes, and arrives in cinemas in the UK on July 25th. What's more, we've got a new trailer for the movie, which has some action and loud music. There is shouting too. It's all in there. Take a look and see what you reckon...

The Rock, the Doc and Lovejoy - what's not to love?

This movie looks so bland, generic, and mediocre... but if we get at least one of Rock's trademarks or Finishers, I'm totall onboard!

On a different note - anybody else thinks he's a dead ringer for Kevin Sorbo here?

/and on another another note - "visionary director" Brett Ratner? Makes you wonder what kind of visions...

God, what an awful trailer. The movie looks like idiotic fun -. but that trailer is awful. There's no good pacing, the music is terrible. Seriously, fire the trailer director.

Can't wait for the movie !

Well. Dont think I need to see the movie now Ive seen that.

He does indeed look like Sorbo, who was the best part about that show. He was a good example of how a charismatic and likeable actor can make a boring character work, which I'm sure will apply to the Rock as well. Johnson is an unbelievably charismatic performer and comes across as very likeable, so I'm mostly looking forward to seeing him in action.

At least it looks better than that other Hercules movie.

Yup. This one is based on a very brutal comic and it stars the Rock, so I'm expecting enjoyment on par with "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys"

"visionary director Brett Ratner"

hmmmm

garbage

Big Swords,Big Beasties,Big Blokes,Big Hair and ladies. Who do I give my money too?

FINALLY... HERCULES - HAS COME BACK - TO A POSSIBLY GENERIC ACTION FILM BUT I'M WILLING TO GIVE IT THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT TO SEE THE ROCK PERFORM THE PEOPLE'S ELBOW ON A GODDAMN HYDRA.

Yes, that needed to be in capitals and no, I'm not explaining it to people who've no idea what that reference means.

I would SO buy multiple Blu Rays if that would be in the movie.

Also: "What do you think about this golden fleece?" - "Well, it-" - "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK!"

Is it obligatory in modern film trailers to have every CGI creature attempt to swallow the camera? Is this really the pinnacle of Hollywood's collective imaginative talent?

It's gonna be the most electrifying film of the summer!

I think the PR guys mixed up 'visionary' with 'personal wank fantasy'. Easy mistake to make.

All I could think was:

'The Rock ....... because he's worth it!'

Meanwhile Queen's of the Stone Age roll in their graves.... or laugh to the bank. Delete as you feel appropriate...

Can you SMELLLLLL what the ROCK is cookin? Yep, a turd. Didn't he make this movie already? ala Scorpion King?

Nothing new to see here, move along.

Brett Ratner

Ya en el trailer se ven escenas robadas de Gladiator.

No one knows...
