Trailer Simon Brew 26 Mar 2014 - 06:43

Brett Ratner directs Dwayne Johnson in 2014's second Hercules movie. Here's the first trailer...

In the week that Renny Harlin's The Legend Of Hercules arrives in UK cinemas (after its dismal showing in the US), the first trailer has landed for a higher profile take on the character, which is arriving later this year.

The one, called simply Hercules, stars Dwayne Johnson in the title role, with visionary director Brett Ratner calling the shots. The movie is due in cinemas on July 25th this year (the same day that the Wachowski's Jupiter Ascending arrives in the UK), and the impressive supporting cast includes Ian McShane, John Hurt, Joseph Fiennes and Rufus Sewell.

Here's the first trailer for the movie...

Brett Ratner looks to have picked up his game!

I AM SPART......errrrm .....HERCULES!!!!!

Nice syrup though. Not convinced about the facial merkin.

herrrmmmmmeeeemmmm dunno. Some nice CG work though.

I get a nice vibe of Conan the Barbarian from this. While the Scorpion King wasn't very good, the Rock was still great in it so I'm looking forward to this.

Yeah, guess that was Hercules.

Picked up a computer game? - God of War maybe?

duuuuuull

'Visionary director Brett Ratner'… LOL

Was thinking there is no way they could go wrong, but if its an obviously bloodless affair then that would rob it of the full awesomeness it could achieve!

I love a swords and sandals flicks and normally the Rock can do no wrong but this one looks awful.
Its a's if they wrote everything they can think off tha a 6 year old would find cool and then rather than whitle the ideas down to the best just implemented all of it.

Dammit I was all ready to make a snarky comment but... This looks better than I thought it would.

I think it's fair to say that the acting looks and sound pretty bad, but the movie itself looks pretty, the action looks good and it's nice and bright, which a lot of CGI action fests have been missing (another reason to love Marvel). For dumb action this looks decent.

I'll not be holding my breath for greatness, but should this be on my local cinema's mid-week cheap list I just might give it a go for the craic.

Oh dear, a CGI big cat. Does anyone remember 10,000 B.C.? Beyond that it looks like fun.
Also, why does MGM keep making this kind of movies when they are doing nothing with Stargate? (And no reboot!)

Was that in the trailer? Because if so, I blocked it out.

Looks like it might be enjoyable hokum. Not wetting my panties over it but looks entertaining enough- just hope it's not going to be po-faced and humourless.

It ... Looks awful. Though hopefully in a "so bad it's good" way. That said, I do enjoy a bit of Dwayne Johnson yelling at people and punching things.

why are they using the music from Godzilla??

Looks to be another stab at Conan, really. I don't have very high expectations for this, but might be worth a punt...

This is probably the largest number of Inception Trailer Parps I've ever heard.
That's about all I took from this trailer...

Nothing wrong with an overly large pussy in my book ;-)
