Did you spill Jason Statham's pint?

Jason Statham has found his co-star in the new take on Heat...

The mighty Jason Statham is back in his rightful place this weekend, on the big screens of Britain, as Parker finally makes its UK bow. As ever though, The Statham is a busy man (Hummingbird is already complete and set for release in May), and one of his upcoming projects is a remake of Heat.

Now, to be clear: we're not talking about the Michael Mann crime thriller, starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. Instead, we're on about the 1987 film Heat, which starred professional facial hair model, Burt Reynolds.

The Statham is reuniting with his The Mechanic and The Expendables 2 director Simon West for Heat. And joining him in the cast, it's now been revealed, is Sofia Vergara. Vergara is set to be seen in the upcoming sequel, Machete Kills, which is due out in September.

William Goldman is reportedly penning the screenplay for the film, and The Transporter co-director Corey Yuen is on-board to choreograph the action and fights.

Expect Heat to go before the cameras soon. We'll keep you posted when we have a release date.

Hey man...Burt is awesome...don't disrespect....And his version of Heat is pretty good...

No, no, no, no, no! Why does Hollywood insist on rehashing the same old films and shoving them down our throats? I mean, surely there are some writers out there with an imagination? BORING.

Stath and Yuen Kwei? Together again? Little tears of joy have formed.

Does Burt's heat have him explaining that he has a set of rules?

Please DoG, no more...
Enough of the hero worship of this talentless lunk.
Thank you.

No disrespect intended. No shortage of Burt fans here! You do have to admit that he has a striking way of modelling facial hair, though!

if ever there was a film which doesn't require a remake...

Two more reasons to watch this!

hasn't HEAT been rebooted before ?
