What Nathan Fillion is and isn't doing in Guardians Of The Galaxy, plus the latest on Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 plans...

We're talking weeks rather than months now until Marvel takes the wraps off its eagerly-awaited Guardians Of The Galaxy movie. Directed by James Gunn, the film heads to UK cinemas on July 31st (it lands in the US the day after).

Gunn, on his Twitter feed, has been addressing a rumour that Nathan Fillion will be taking on the role of Nova in Guardians Of The Galaxy. Firstly, he denied that that's the case, posting the following...

However, a subsquent Tweet revealed that Guardians Of The Galaxy would not be Fillion-free...

Someday, someone is going to give Nathan Fillion a very big role in a very big movie. We look forward to that day.

Elsewhere in Guardians Of The Galaxy news, Marvel Studios' boss Kevin Feige has been talking about possible sequels to the film. "Every time we make a movie, we focus on the single movie, the importance of doing the best version we can to introduce a new audience to the characters. So we don't have, necessarily, two or three or four movies planned because if we have a good idea - a fun idea for a scene or a cool character - we put it in this movie because we know if the first movie doesn't work, there won't be any movies after that", he told the crowd at CineEurope.

He added "that being said, there are dozens and dozens of Guardians Of The Galaxy storylines ... should this film work, should the audience come out for this one, there are definitely places we can take it and we have ideas of where we'd like to go with it, but really all the energy goes into the first movie first".

That first movie lands next month...
