Release date finally confirmed for Gravity

Is Gravity the sci-fi film to beat in 2013? We'll be finding out in October...

If you've had a chance to gander at our list of the films we're most looking forward to in 2013, then you should already have an idea just how excited we are about Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity. The film stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, as a pair of astronauts stranded in space, and the movie has been kept under a particularly effective blanket of secrecy.

The film's now complete, with Cuaron (Children Of Men) having written and directed it. There's just the small matter of a 3D conversion to sort out now. Warner Bros has also finally announced a release date for the movie, which has been inked in for October 4th 2013. That seems a long, long way away, but we're pretty sure this one's going to be well worth the wait.

As soon as we find out more about Gravity, we'll let you know.

Ack, all of the way to Oct? Grr. I was hoping at least summer.

Hmm. Sounds like another Solaris.

Sandra thanks

children of men really is quite a special film, looking forward to this sucker... :)

I think this is the guy who directed OR wrote pan´s labyrinth. This could turn out great!

No, Pan's Labyrinth was written AND directed by Guillermo Del Toro, but I'm pretty sure he and Alfonso are close, both being great Hispanic directors. Cuaron did direct The Prisoner of Azkaban though, he has quite a bit of fantasy in him!

I saw a screening of Gravity... while I'm sworn to secrecy, I will say... I'll be first in line to see it when it comes out. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Can't wait to see the full 3D effect!
