Gerard Butler in talks for Gods Of Egypt
Gerard Butler may be heading closer to the world of 300 again, as he circles Alex Proyas' Gods Of Egypt...
Gerard Butler looks to be returning to fairly familiar ground for a project he's lining up, if rumours are true, as he's in discussions to star opposite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Geoffrey Rush in Alex Proyas' Gods Of Egypt. Granted, he didn't play a god in 300, but he was involved in plenty of swords and sandles shenanigans which will no doubt play a heavy role in Gods Of Egypt.
Butler is in talks to play Set, the god of the desert, storms and foreigners who kills his brother Osiris whilst plotting to kill their father Ra (Rush). Osiris' son, Horus (Coster-Waldau), then seeks revenge against his uncle. Classic revenge stuff then and will give Butler ample opportunity to ham it up in a villainous role. We would wager not too many clothes will be required.
There's no firm release for the film as yet but word is that Summit Entertainment seem keen on the project so providing Proyas can keep the budget at a sensible level and attract some more top tier names to the cast, it should stand a decent chance of getting made.
