Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone lead a tremendous cast in Gangster Squad. Here’s the new trailer for it…

The re-cut Gangster Squad is set to head into cinemas in January, having had a scene set in a cinema removed from the final cut. This was in the aftermath of the tragic shootings in Aurora back in July.

The film stars Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Nick Nolte, Josh Brolin, Sean Penn and more. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, stylistically the film looks terrific, and the new trailer for the film offers example evidence of the sheer brilliance of the company of actors that’s been brought together.

From what I've seen so far, this looks like it'll be a decent watch. My only question though is why does Sean Penn's face look like he's stepped off the set of the 1990's Dick Tracey?

I've been thinking that as well. I think it's just a bit of a throw back to these sort's of films! I hope it doesn't stop you enjoying Penns scenes. I didn't mind JGL in Looper with the make up, so hopefully this will be fine.

Penn is undoubtedly a great actor but hopefully he isn't that intense all the way through the movie. The great bad guys like Jack Nicholson, de Niro and even Ray Liotta could do menacing without shouting.
