Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jeremy Piven, Jerry Ferrara and more start work on the Entourage film...

It feels like this has been a long, long time coming. Since Entourage wrapped up on television screens, there's been continuous chatter about a possible trip to the movies. And it's all finally come together: Warner Bros has issued a statement, confirming that filming on the Entourage film has indeed begun.

The movie has gathered back together the original cast of the HBO show. So Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jeremy Piven and Jerry Ferrara are all on board, with Emmanuelle Chriqui, Perrey Reeves and Rhys Coiro back too.. Then Billy Bob Thornton and Haley Joel Osment are set to join them as father and son.

Doug Ellin, who created Entourage, has written the movie and is directing as well, with Mark Wahlberg amongst the producers.

More on the Entourage film as we hear it.

I had no idea this was happening. Loved the TV show and would be interested in a movie. Although it needs to capture the anarchic spirit of the first couple of seasons and ditch the CW level drama (pun intended) that badgered the final years.

Viral marketing concept: I want Johnny Drama's highlight reel to be "leaked" online. Would love to see what movies he supposedly did and made cameos.

(You're welcome, Hollywood. I'll be here waiting for the royalty checks to be rolling in. And waiting. And waiting.)
