First clip from Dredd arrives
Karl Urban shoots people, and blood spills, as a promo clip for Dredd arrives....
Over at Comic-Con, a bunch of people have seen the brand new Dredd film, and the early news seems quite positive. Certainly, there were lots of positive comments circling about the film yesterday, although we’ve not seen the film ourselves, so can’t offer any insight of any worth. Ahem.
But we do have this: it’s the first full clip from the movie, which seems to be putting across just how violent the new Dredd film apparently is. We’re certainly grateful they don’t appear to have toned things down for a softer film.
Dredd arrives in UK cinemas on 7th September 2012. And we now know that it will have slow motion in it. Here’s the clip!

Awesome!
Crap
at least the slow-mo's explained in-film: It's how the drug works. Notice how, from the addict's view it's slow-mo but when Dredd and co are the POV it's real-time? Looking forward to this, I have to say.
WOW!
oh my lord (in a good way)
Was worried but now seeing clips and the reviews, am really hyped up and looking forward to seeing it.
It's gonna be fun on the bun
Now that looked amazing and brutally hardcore. In my personal opinion.
Love the way the blood spills over the film's letterbox. Well zarjaz.
This is more like it.
Whilst the trailer was as I expected it to be, it seems it doesn't do the film any justice based on all the positive responses I've read.
I am now far more hyped up to see the film and let's hope it's successful enough to get a sequel greenlit.
Yeah the slow motion is explained......but that just makes the side effect of the drug feel even more like what it is ; a contrivance!!!
Good, except for the silly 3D blood flying out of the screen at 0:45.
So is it really just a 10 minute film slowed down ? Sorry, that looked rubbish.
its meant to be really great - seriously. its an alex garland script too. slashfilm were really on for it and they don't know 2000AD from a hole in the ground. they loved it. I really have high hopes here.
amen.
that looked an awwwful lot like Dredd about his business there.
mmmm. this could be good. this could be an honest to god Dredd film.
Splundig vur thrigg!!!!!!!
so its max payne then in a hasbro helmet?
You could say that about any movie though - the awsome reflexs of 'The one' were just a contrivance to show off bullet time, having Peter Parker bitten by a spider is just a contrivance so he can shoot webs and swing around a city, regeneration is a contrivance that's kept Doctor Who alive for 50 years... that's what writers do, they contrive stories to entertain us.
I also suspect that the slow-mo is only going to be used in a similar way to the 1st person shots in The Amazing Spiderman - just a few scenes here and there that neither make or break the film. Reserve judgement.
yay! hardcore slo-mo violence appeases all us Dredd doubters...hmmm not sure I like what that says about me...stuff it...YAY!
I like special effects, but I don't want to puke.
I Do!
