Community: does 'seven seasons and a movie' have quite the same ring to it, we wonder...?

There might just be a fly in the ointment of Community's long mooted 'six seasons and a movie' mantra' - and that's that the show's life may go on a bit longer than expected.

Sony Pictures Television's president of programming and production - bet that takes a small font to get on the plate on his door - is Zack Van Amburg, and he's confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that plans are afoot for a Community movie. This comes after the show was saved from cancellation, with Yahoo! picking up rights to season six.

"There's no way we're not doing the movie now!", Van Amburg said, before confirming that "I'd be lying if I told you that we have not had some very early and preliminary conversations that are very exciting about what a potential movie could be and who might direct it. It's early but it's completely in our thought process".

Furthermore, there's an olive branch being held out for a potential season seven as well. Van Amburg didn't rule it out when asked, adding that "let's see how our movie does".
