Anne Hathaway on a possible Catwoman movie

Anne Hathaway remains keen to reprise the role of Selina Kyle. But will she get the chance?

Anne Hathaway has had quite a year. Awards attention is following her performance in Les Miserables, which is turning into a major box office smash. And, of course, there was the small matter of her turn as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. That made a few quid too.

It's while she's been doing promotional work for the former that she's ended up chatting about the latter again, as Simon Mayo on Radio Five Live questioned her as to the possibilities of a Catwoman spin-off film. "There would always be interest in the wonderful character who I love so much that in a recent Q&A where I had to get up and talk about it, somebody asked me what it was like to say goodbye to her and I burst into tears", Hathaway said. "Which is just about the most un-Selina Kyle thing you can do".

While Hathaway would be keen to reprise the role, though, she knows nothing of any substance about it happening. "Nobody's talked to me about it", she said. "I'm a big fan of the idea, but there's nothing happening. It just kind of exists in my imagination".

Should Hathaway, as is a strong possibility, take home an Oscar for her performance in Les Miserables, then she may end up following the path trodden by Halle Berry should Catwoman happen. After all, Berry won an Oscar, and then took on a Catwoman movie a couple of years later. Here's hoping it'd turn out a lot better for Hathaway though...

Why not. Chuck her in with Joseph Gordon Levitt in a Nightwing film. I'd see it...

As long as theres more of her in that outift Im in (if only eh ha ha, sorry, sorry)

About as likely as an Alfred or Lucius Fox spin off movie

It would have potential with the right people involved, but that Halle Berry probably puts people off when there's so much good superhero stuff out there at the moment. Maybe it'd be good for sometime after 2015 when things calm down a bit

One of the things I enjoyed most about her character (apart from the outfit) was the way they made Selina Kyle as good an actress as Hathaway herself. I'm thinking specifically of her appearance as a fake maid and then as a hysterical witness to a shootout. In both instances, she was able to play the part people were expecting to achieve her objectives (getting into a safe and later avoiding arrest) and then drop the act in a split second.

Exactly...I mean the last Catwoman film was hardly a success was it? She is good as a character and great in Dark Knight Rises but there is no way they could carry a whole film off from that. It will be terrible and they are just cashing in and looking for ideas to replace Batman with now Nolan is finished with it. But when has that ever stopped them? Come to think of it, when has it ever stopped the idiots going to see the crap films as well....

I could get with a movie detailing Alfreds exploits in Burma.

A prequel to the DKR? or maybe Bale makes some guest spots since they ran away together.

With that backside in that suit they could easily carry several movies on that alone.

I'd go to see it.

lol...probably, but then Halle Berry is hardly a woofer and looked good in the suit , but the film was still utter crap and no one went to see it.

Good scripting, good directing, believable fight scenes and a production team that cares to make a Catwoman movie a great movie can make it so. The Batman movies could have sucked big time too. This has nothing to do with the gender of the lead hero. "Salt" was fine, and I am certainly glad that they didn't have Little Tom Cruise in the lead, it would have been pathetic.

What does that comment by Hathaway about bursting into tears even mean? I wish the media would challenge actors on this method, luvvie bullshit

Indeed, Anne when she got on the batcycle.....oh my.
