Jena Malone joins The Hunger Games sequel

A bit of confirmed casting news for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, as Jena Malone joins the film…

It’s just a few weeks now before production formally starts on the follow up to this year’s massively successful screen adaptation of The Hunger Games. Catching Fire is being directed by Francis Lawrence, for release in November 2013, and all of the key surviving cast from the first film – led by Jennifer Lawrence – are returning.

In terms of new additions for Catching Fire, there have been lots of rumours, but not much in the way of confirmation. However, one name now definitely on the call sheet is Jena Malone. Previously seen in Sucker Punch, Malone has landed the role of Johanna Mason. Whether she’ll get to wear more clothes than her character initially does in the book remains to be seen.

She looks like the perfect Johanna, it has to be said.

I haven't read the Hunger Games but I have been a big fan of Jena Malone since Donnie Darko.

interesting choice.

If she's playing Johanna, looks like she's out of luck on the whole 'more clothes' thing.
