Character posters for Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The Marvel marketing juggernaut continues, with five character posters for the incoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier...

Landing in UK cinemas on Wednesday March 26th is the latest movie in Marvel's masterplan to take over the planet's cinemas. That film is Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which sees Chris Evans returning to the lead role.

The latest promo work for the film involves him getting a character photo. But it's not just him: Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Redford and Samuel L Jackson get character posters too. Their walls will all look very pretty with them on it.

We'll have more on Captain America 2 in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, here are those posters...

I quite like these, but the photoshopping on the Falcon one is terrible. I know that he can fly, but that doesn't mean he doesn't need proper legs too.

This is what it *should* look like....

Anyone notice how out-of-proportion the falcon poster is? His upper half is huge!

That Black Widow pic is still a terrible photoshop job...

They all are a bit right? Falcon and Black Widow the most, but even Cap's back seems a bit odd. Are they not tough enough / good looking enough without extra magic photoshoppery?

Soda Stream girl is looking hot.
Sorry, I mean Soda Stream lady is looking like a good role-model for empowering women (and some men).

Maybe his legs are just very far away.

In all seriousness though once you've spotted it you can't unsee it. It looks so wrong.

I can't explain it, but somehow the wrong one looks right to me...

Most birds have very small legs in proportion to their body

now that I've seen that I can't stop looking at it, thanks!

The Photoshop is strong in this one.

Or well, maybe 'obvious'.

Photoshop in a movie poster? NO! Because THAT never happens. What a shocker! What a scandal! I am shocked. SHOCKED! Shocked by the very idea that Photoshop would be used in a movie poster!

Anyone wanna check to see if Scarlet's right arm IS actually longer than her left?

Because if there's one thing in the world that drastically needs altering, it's Scarlett Johansson's figure.

The falcon and captain americas are the best ones, the robert redford one looks hideous

How odd that this got posted up here, too.

Nope. They're about the same.

Like I corrected myself: the Photoshop on these posters is very obvious. It can be done a lot better.

Absolute guff. I'm all superhero'd out now.

As far as I'm concerned, bad photoshop should be constantly pointed out in the hope that one day Hollywood will go back to using proper artists and illustrators like Drew Struzan for their posters. As long as they think they can get away with using anything that an intern with photosphop bangs out, I guess that'll never happen.

That much I agree with, but keep pointing it out. I just don't think that's what's going to change anything though. The film industry seems content to put almost no money and effort into film posters.
