Captain America 2 to lead into Avengers 2

The new Captain America movie will impact Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age Of Ultron. It'll have an impact on Agents Of SHIELD too...

Heading into UK cinemas at the end of next month is Marvel Studios' latest movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. There have been suggestions before that this is a pivotal film in terms of helping to set up Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers: Age Of Ultron. And as part of a conference call with investors, Disney's CEO Bob Iger has cemented that.

"I’ve really been impressed with the early buzz that we’re seeing for the Marvel films", Iger told some rich people on the phone. "Captain America 2 is just huge and it takes the Captain America story to incredible new levels". He added that the film "will set critical events in motion" that lead to the Avengers sequel, and would also have some impact on Agents Of SHIELD.

The studio clearly has confidence in the new Captain America movie, given that it's already re-engaged directors Joe and Anthony Russo to develop the third film. It arrives in the UK on March 26th, and in the US on April 4th.

Please tell me this means the post-credit scene is Ultron stepping on the heads of Fitz and Simmons!!!!!

post credit scenes of Iron Man 3 & Thor The Dark Wolrd honestly sucked, I hope "Captain" won't disappoint...

*world

Impact on Agents of Shield, huh? Looks like the Bus is getting a kaboomy flamy thing via a certain assassin. Call it the Not Returning This Fall, Soldier.

Iron Man 3 was supposedly gonna have a Peter Quill post credit distress signal, catapulting Iron Man into orbit. Instead we get the guy that we wish would have forced Tony to use the Hulkbuster suit on. The suit he destroyed. We deserved Hulk vs. Iron Man. We got Tony Stark vs. Trevor Schlattery.

I liked it more but hindsight, ya know?

But yeah that peter quill thing got canned when RDJ said he's getting too old

I'm looking forward to see it's impact on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Because Thor 2 didn't really touch it at all apart from a few references.

So Stark is going to be taking over as the head of S.H.I.E.L.D then?
Fits in with comic continuity, with Downey's comments about getting old, Stark's destroying his suits but then building Ultron (basically a sentient Iron Man suit form what we know so far) and with the tone of the Captain america 2 trailers.

Here's hoping this leads to World War Hulk and Civil War storylines somewhere down the road.

Hopefully Captain America throws one of the flying aircraft carriers into the Agents of Shield studio, forcing not just its cancellation, but complete removal from the space and time.

I'm hoping for something like Death of Captain America. Pretty much all the necessary characters are there, just need a couple more.
Or perhaps Steve will take over from Fury? Or even Hill, that could be interesting.

Agreed. I mean man the ice beast was ripe for the showing upon their show, but really Cap is a face of S.H.I.E.L.D. so hopefully the effects on the show will be spectacular. Not visual effects, mind, that ship has sailed

"Not visual effects, mind, that ship has sailed"
.
Ooooohhh someone has been taking their bitchy pills this morning ;)

Ya got me. But alright I rescind that comment.

Ya don't got me.

Just got finished watching the last ep. It was very good! The last 3 or 4 have been. And the ice storm was definitely a step toward awesome visual effects.

But the asgardian. Peter MacNicol, star of geek favorites Breakin' All The Rules and... and... Well he just wasn't what I expected after Thor 2.

Impact on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D? Does anyone still watch that show?

thanks for the spoilers.
