Dominic Cooper and Robert Redford have been chatting about Captain America: The Winter Soldier...

Much of the Marvel news of late has been centred around pieces falling into place for Guardians of Galaxy, as well as the small matter of Loki not not featuring in the Avengers 2. Now there's been some updates regarding Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

First up Dominic Cooper has been chatting about his role as Howard Stark in the film. "I went off and shot something, but I can't even work out how my character can be in it. Wouldn't I be dead? But anything is possible", he said to MTV. "They are quite secretive about where they are going to go with the characters and how it will slot in, you have no idea. So you turn up, put your costume on and do as you're told. I have definitely put the costume on. I have worn the costume and we have shot something, but how it's going to enter into the next phase of what they are planning I don't know. I sound so dodgy, I don't even believe myself! I have shot some scenes".

That's far from illuminating, but that's no fault of Cooper's seems as though he's as in the dark about the film as the rest of us. That's perhaps understandable given the frustrations Marvel isfacing with regards to pictures being snapped of the production against its wishes.

Robert Redford has also been chatting about what attracted him about the film to Total Film. “I've always liked all kinds of pitches. (laughs) curveball, fastball, slowball... but it's very simple: I'm only doing it because it's different. It's not a major part", he told the magazine.

The different part is interesting given that the film is rumoured to play out very much like a political thriller, which Redford of course is very familiar with. Perhaps the fact that a major superhero movie is being framed in such a way is the appeal. Even so, regardless of how big his part is it will be great to see him in the Winter Soldier when it's released next April.

So, ah, neither one said anything that tells us anything ... Okay then. And since we already knew they were in the movie, our knowledge has been advanced in less than a myriad of ways.

I'm pretty excited about this film. I can see it being epic like a smaller version of The Avengers.

If they keep the spirit and slow-build patience of the original, this will be great. Or, they could totally blow it with impatient fast paced action like they did Iron Man 2.
