Jeremy Renner reveals details of his character in The Bourne Legacy
Jeremy Renner has revealed some long-awaited details about his role in The Bourne Legacy...
We can expect to see a lot of Jeremy Renner on cinema screens over the next twelve months. He’ll next be seen in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol which is less than a month away, and in 2012 he’s got The Avengers, Hansel and Gretel: Witchhunters and The Bourne Legacy.
In a recent interview with Empire, the actor has shed some light on The Bourne Legacy, and how it will fit in with the trilogy of films starring Matt Damon.
Here's what he had to say:
"My character is called Aaron Cross, but he ends up having a bunch of different names. For fans of the franchise, The Bourne Legacy has that same ticking clock, but it's a new programme and new characters."
He also commented on whether Treadstone would feature: "Yeah, it's that same deal, it's just a new set of agents with a different leash. It's the same tempo and pace but more expansive and bigger. The differences are pretty vast but you'll know it's a Bourne movie."
There’s little doubt that Renner can handle the balance of action and intriguing character work given the number of quality performances he’s delivered at this point in his career.
Still, Renner and director Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton and Duplicity) certainly have a lot to live up to. But considering that Gilroy was the screenwriter on the three movies in the franchise to date, his hands are safer than most. We're looking forward to this one, after all...
The Bourne Legacy is set to be out on 17th August 2012.
