The Bourne Legacy recruits familiar faces
Just because the new Bourne movie, The Bourne Legacy, won’t have Jason Bourne in it, that doesn’t mean others won’t be back….
Ensuring the promised continuity with the franchise that preceded it, The Bourne Legacy might not have Matt Damon as Jason Bourne in it, but it will have a couple of familiar faces from the earlier films.
Variety is reporting that both Joan Allen and Albert Finney have agreed to reprise their roles from the earlier Bourne movies for The Bourne Legacy. That's a smart move in our book, given that both of them have been terrific, integral parts of the franchise. They join a cast that includes Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton and Oscar Isaac.
The plan seems to be to have the new Bourne movie out in cinemas next summer, although a formal release date has yet to be announced. Tony Gilroy is on writing and directing duties, having inherited the helming gig from Paul Greengrass.
Once we have firmer release details, we’ll bring them your way.
