Benedict Cumberbatch, Johhnny Depp and Adam Scott join forces for Scott Cooper's Black Mass...

The Benedict Cumberbatch casting cumberdrought is long over, with the mighty man himself linked with a few films over the past couple of weeks. The latest is Black Mass, a film about 'Whitey' Bulger. Bulger spent much of his early life in prison for incredibly unpleasant crimes, before working undercover for the FBI and rising up the Boston organised crime ladder.

Johnny Depp is taking on the role of Bulger in the film, and Guy Pearce had been earmarked for play his brother, Billy. Now though, it's being reported that Benedict Cumberbatch will be taking that part on, as Pearce is no longer attached to the project. Furthermore, Adam Scott - best known for his work in Parks And Recreation - has also joined the cast as FBI agent Robert Fitzpatrick.

Production is underway on the movie, with Scott Cooper directing. More news on the project as we hear it.
