Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy wrap on Before Midnight
First there was Before Sunrise. Then Before Sunset. Now, production has wrapped on Before Midnight…
Well, this is good news. We’re huge fans of Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, a pair of movies that follow Ethan Hawke’s Jesse and Julie Delpy’s Celine around for the best part of 90 minutes apiece. Genuinely: they’re both brilliant. If you’ve not had the pleasure of either, they’re really worth getting hold of.
Not least because it’ll make the following news even better: while nobody was looking, Linklater, Hawke and Delpy have shot the third film in the series. Before Midnight, as it’s believed to be called, finished shooting earlier this week in Greece, and while it’s unclear yet when we can see the film, we’re both thrilled it’s been made, and impressed it’s been done so completely under the radar.
When we have any semblance of a release date for Before Midnight, we’ll pass the news on.
