Winona Ryder hints at Beetlejuice 2 return
It's looking more and more like the original Beetlejuice team will be back for Beetlejuice 2. Winona Ryder included...
Plans for Beetlejuice 2 seem to be gathering momentum, and the suggestion remains that Tim Burton will return to make his first sequel since 1992's Batman Returns. Nothing has been officially confirmed with regards personnel (outside of the writing team: Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg), but it wouldn't be much of a film if Michael Keaton didn't return, for a start. He's indicated, fortunately, that he will be back.
Furthermore, it looks as if Winona Ryder is on board, too. She was chatting to The Daily Beast, and was asked if she was set to return to reprise the role of Lydia Deetz in the new movie. Confirming that the new film is not a remake, she then said that "I'm kind of sworn to secrecy", adding "but it sounds like it might be happening".
"It's 27 years later", she said, "and I have to say, I love Lydia. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later". She also confirmed that "I would never go near a sequel if it was not Tim and Michael".
