Batman/Superman: Timothy Dalton eyed for Alfred?
Looks like this was a false rumour...
UPDATE: Apologies. Looks like this was a false rumour. Original story follows.
Rumours continue to fly with regards the casting for 2015's Batman/Superman movie. We know of course that the lead two roles are being played by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, and that the ensemble cast from Man Of Steel are set to come back for the new movie too. But the new Batman needs a new support team around him, and part and parcel of that is a brand new Alfred.
Zack Snyder's film will, unsurprisingly, draw a line between it and Christopher Nolan's completed Dark Knight trilogy for its Batman, and as such, Bruce Wayne is going to need a new Alfred this time around (it won't be Michael Caine). According to Cosmic Book News, whose track record on DC movie rumours really isn't bad, Timothy Dalton is the latest name to appear on the wishlist for the Batman/Superman film. And it's the role of Alfred he's been linked with.
James Bond as Alfred? Stranger things have happened, but it still sounds a bit of a long shot to us.
This is all deep rumour territory of course, as there's been no new casting confirmed apart from that of Ben Affleck. Bryan Cranston was set to have been locked down as Lex Luthor, but there's still nothing official from Warner Bros on that.
When we hear more on the film, and potential casting, we'll let you know. Treat this one with the usual pinch of salt for the time being, though...
