Bryan Cranston on Man Of Steel 2 Lex Luthor rumours
Is Walter White set to be Lex Luthor? Bryan Cranston addresses rumours he's taking on the role in the Batman/Superman movie...
With just a handful of episodes now left to screen in the final ever series of Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston's exquisite work in the show as Walter White is surely going to require him to buy a reinforced mantelpiece when television's assorted gongs are given out.
Furthermore, Cranston's movie career is hardly shabby, either. Take his supporting role in last year's Oscar winner Argo for a start, as well as his work in the likes of Drive, John Carter and Contagion. Amongst the midst of upcoming releases already filmed, Cranston is also part of the ensemble for Gareth Edwards' Godzilla reboot, due next year.
However, of late it's been the Batman/Superman movie that's been oiling the wheels of the rumour machine. Cranston has been strongly linked with the role of Lex Luthor in the film, to the point where it's been suggested that he's already signed up for six films.
So: has he? Cranston himself has now said of the Lex Luthor rumour that "I've heard that too". And when asked in more detail, he added that "Six? This is all news to me. I think that maybe my name is bandied about because I'm known to be bald. 'What bald guy can we get?' The reality is that they can take any actor and shave his head or put a bald cap on him".
That's true. Just ask Kevin Spacey.
Cranston wouldn't really be drawn any more on the rumours, though, just saying that "I think I'll relax the rest of the year. There's some irons in the fire, things that people are talking about, but nothing is set".
So, no denial, no admittance. We're still pretty much where we were...
