Assassin's Creed

Michael Fassbender is set to star in the Assassin's Creed movie. And now we know who's writing it too...

UbiSoft's foray into the world of movies is getting underway with the big screen take on its massively successful Assassin's Creed franchise, and it was announced some time back that Michael Fassbender would be starring, as well as taking on a producer role.

That all remains the same, although there's still some way to go before the film makes it before the cameras. As things stand, there's no director in place that we know of, and no release date has been announced.

However, a new writer has been hired to work up a screenplay for Assassin's Creed. The man with the job is Michael Lesslie, a British playwright with a number of short films to his name. His most high profile stage project to date has been Prince Of Denmark, which which the National Theatre here in the UK performed last year.

There are no further clues on the project at the moment, but we're guessing that we won't see the movie until late 2014 at the earliest as things stand.
