Edgar Wright on Ant-Man
Edgar Wright has been chatting about Ant-Man and the reason why Ultron won't be in his film.
With the announcement at Comic-Con that the Avengers sequel would feature Ultron as the antagonist there was some speculation as to whether Hank Pym (Ant-Man) would be in the film too, and whether Ultron would make an appearance in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man movie, . This was something that was put to rest by Joss Whedon when he confirmed that Hank Pym will not feature in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Pym was responsible for the creation of Ultron so this has left some questions. Edgar Wright has been chatting about the lack of Ultron in Ant-Man, though, and has answered them. "It was never in my script. Because even just to sort of set up what Ant-Man does is enough for one movie. It's why I think Iron Man is extremely successful because it keeps it really simple. You have one sort of – the villain comes from the heroes' technology. It's simple. So I think why that film really works and why, sometimes, superhero films fail – or they have mixed results – because they have to set up a hero and a villain at the same time. And that's really tough. And sometimes it's unbalanced".
