Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?Someone needs to teach give that kid a guitar, or if not, suggest ways that a bass is played...
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year? That doesn't even make sense...
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?Yes it does, he's holding a bass guitar like you would an electric guitar. Needless to say you don't play the Bass with your body bent over like that.
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?who says you cant play it like that? bass players like to rock out too!
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?I've never ever seen a bass player play like that, generally they lean slightly back to support the weight of the bass.
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?Have you watched Flea play base? That guy stands pretty much however he wants. And a lot of bass players tend to stand with their legs quite far apart and upright rather than leaning back. Anyway, love the tagline!
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year? It's based on a panel from the book. First volume I think.
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?Yeah, I'm a bassist and I've played like that before. It's not something I'd do in every song, mind you, but sometimes when I get caught up in a jam I go kind of crazy.
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?especially if he's playing some punk rock or something he'd probably be rocking out like that
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?Check out Rob Trujillo of Metallica - he is a psycho with a bass guitar
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?Read this again and tell it how it makes sense: "Someone needs to teach give that kid a guitar"
Duh.......

Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?I think I now like that word again, I kinda fell out with it circa 'Kingdom of Heaven'. And I ain't gon' tell a boy with sweet kicks like that how to play nothin'.
Re: Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?Watch this video from about 2:50, and you will see that the Bass guitar can indeed be played exactly as shown above. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHbGKumPcUU

Scott Pilgrim poster: Is this the best tagline of the year?
Simon Brew
The first official poster for Edgar Wright’s film of Scott Pilgrim vs The World arrives! And it’s got an epic tagline. Literally.
Those who follow our Twitter feed - it's www.twitter.com/denofgeek, appreciating that you didn't ask - might have spotted us yesterday discussing one of the finest movie taglines that we've seen in some time. We were referring to the line ‘An Epic Of Epic Epicness', which is appearing at the bottom of posters for Edgar Wright's upcoming Scott Pilgrim Vs The World movie. The only problem was that there wasn't an official version of the poster doing the rounds, so we couldn't pop it on the site for you.
But today? It's all change, ladies and gents. Because today we've got our paws on the official version of the poster. And today, we've posted it for you here. And today, we can all salivate before the aforementioned tagline. Unless you don't like it, in which case that'd be a bit daft.
We're looking forward to Scott Pilgrim a lot, to the point of stalking director Edgar Wright with offers of Haribo sweets. He's not bitten yet, but rest assured, we're willing to upgrade our efforts to include Fizzy Chewits in exchange for seeing the film as soon as possible. We don't fancy our chances, but we're nothing if not committed.
Here's the poster, anyway, and Scott Pilgrim Vs The World arrives in August. It is a film we will be annoying you a lot more about in the months ahead. Promise.
In the meantime, if you want the poster as a wallpaper image, then you need to pop over to the official website here.
