An upcoming documentary that we surely should have told you about before now now (in case you didn't know about it), this May will see the release of American: The Bill Hicks story. It's a look at his life that's been made with the involvement of many of the legendary comedian's friends. It's also using what's being described as a "stunning new animation technique" which will be manipulating thousands of photographs. It'll be interested to see how that pans out.
Crucially, though, it's hard to think of a comedian who's a more fitting subject for a film, and this will do until the inevitably biopic comes around. The trailer below is, inevitably, classed as ‘red band', which means that you're not allowed to look at it if you're under 18. Sorry about that.
