Kick-Ass 2 set to go much darker?
Simon Brew
As the first film continues to garner rave reviews, some hints have been dropped about just where Kick-Ass 2 is going to go…

If you've not seen our review yet, then let's just cut to the chase: Kick-Ass is genuinely brilliant. We don't give out five star scores very often, but this is one film that genuinely deserves top marks.
There have been murmurings about where a sequel would go over the past few months, as word of mouth on the film began to rise. But at the South By Southwest Film Festival over the weekend, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (who plays Red Mist in the movie) spoke to ComingSoon.net about the possible follow-up.
He told the site, "I met up with Mark [Millar] actually a few months ago and we had a couple drinks and he told me it was going to be great, and he wants it to be very, very dark is what he's thinking."
Mintz-Plasse's co-star Aaron Johnson then chipped in with, "If you could get any more dark than 'Kick-Ass' is right now, then Mark had even darker ideas, Matthew [Vaughn] went with absolutely everything but there were some things that were impossible to film. No one's going to see it because it's too disgusting."
You can read the full piece over at ComingSoon here, and Kick-Ass arrives in UK cinemas from 26th March, and is unleashed in the US from 16th April.
