Captain America: has Red Skull been found?

As the casting process of casting the title role continues, the villain in The First Avenger: Captain America is looking a little clearer…

Earlier in the week, we brought you the latest update on the Captain America casting process which is still continuing right now. There are still several names in the hat, and it's probably best to have a look here rather than us try and sum it all up again.
However, at least one piece of The First Avenger: Captain America casting jigsaw is slotting into place, and that's the role of the Red Skull. And the man in the frame for the job? Hugo Weaving, who worked with Captain America Joe Johnston on his last movie, The Wolfman.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, and it does note that it's not 100% a done deal yet, primarily because of Marvel's notoriously tough deals (comparably low salary, long commitments). But we'd imagine, nonetheless, that this will be confirmed shortly.
