Shrek Forever After: the new trailer
Simon Brew
The brand new trailer for Shrek 4 arrives, and we’ve got it for you right here…
Published on Mar 12, 2010
The pressure's on DreamWorks with its Shrek franchise this time round, as it fights to win over those who sat through the mechanical third movie. After the genuine imagination of the first film, the franchise hasn't really recaptured what made it work so well since. The second, to be fair, was good fun, but you got the impression that the cracks were being papered over by getting Eddie Murphy to tell a few more jokes. The third wasn't a terrible movie either, to be fair, yet it had clearly fallen a long way behind the first film.
Shrek Forever After meanwhile, is, we're being told, the last Shrek movie (although a Puss In Boots spin-off is in the works), and this new trailer for it does a solid job of re-introducing all of the main characters, as well as introducing the guts of the story.
It's a decent enough trailer, too. The problem is that Shrek Forever After will be going up against Toy Story 3 for the big animated movie of the summer, and it's most certainly the latter that looks the most interesting right now. But take a look at the new promo for yourself and tell us below how you think the new Shrek is shaping up...
