Robin Hood: the brand new trailer

Russell Crowe heads to Nottingham in the latest trailer for Ridley Scott’s take on Robin Hood…
Published on Mar 11, 2010
From the outset, Ridley Scott's approach to Robin Hood has seemed a lot darker than we're used to seeing. With sufficient gravel and earnestness in Russell Crowe's voice, and a muted colour palette, the trailer makes that even more apparent. The scale of the film looks impressive, too, on the basis of what Universal is showing off here, even if it does look like a promo designed to lure in Gladiator enthusiasts, particularly.
There are hints of humour in there amidst the gloom, most notably the interplay between Cate Blanchett and Crowe. But this is a serious action film more than anything, it seems, and this isn't a bad trailer for it either.
Robin Hood arrives in cinemas on May 14th.
