Admit it - it didn't really need that title card declaring it was from the studio that brought you Happy Feet, did it? The first trailer for Zack Snyder's next film, the newly retitled Legends Of The Guardians, doesn't have a dissimilar feel from George Miller's movie of dancing penguins, certainly on the basis of the footage that's been released.
Up until this week, the film was known as Guards Of Ga'Hoole, after the books by Kathryn Lasky that it's based on. But Warner Bros' marketing department seems to have taken one look at that and gone for something simpler.
The story is still the same, though, with the Guardians of the title being a bunch of owls who fought to save all the other owls from the Pure Ones. The story is told through the eyes of Soren, a young owl who wants to be a Guardian, but there's the small matter of sibling rivalry which sets things off on a very different course.
The trailer sets its stall out firmly as a family movie, and the finished product will be out on September 24th.
